Textile Touches of Escape and Migration
ongoing since 2022
“Textile Touches of Escape and Migration” is a participatory, interactive and interdisciplinary art project that invites professional and amateur artists as well as the general public with or without a refugee background to express their emotions and experiences in the field of escape, migration and integration through garment artworks.
So far, 42 unique dress artworks have been created by 40 artists and amateurs from different backgrounds as part of sewing workshops in Berlin, Stuttgart and Düsseldorf and through an open call. These works have already been presented in exhibitions and performances in Freiburg and Karlsruhe. A performance workshop with dancers and amateurs also took place in Karlsruhe. Further events are being planned in other cities.
